Passion vs Finances

As I do my research for my top three career choices I see that there is a clear understanding that some of my choices have a better out look with in finances and stability. But my passion is bigger than money.

Since I can remember I have always said that I would make a career out of one of my passions. It has been clear to me that I would never work a job because of the income that I could earn. I have to love what I will be doing for the rest of my life. I will have to spend 8 hours a day doing this, so why do something that makes you miserable?

Knowing myself, I know that I would hate waking up in the morning to go to a job and not be able to enjoy the work that I will be doing! I would do things half way and won't be able to advance and reach my full capability. I HAVE TO LOVE WHAT I WOULD BE DOING!!!

As long as I am doing what makes me happy, then money does not matter! I know that if I do my best that I that I can advance and reach different levels of success.

Passion is my main goal when it comes to my career ;) !

Filly Brown

Filly Brown is an amazing film!!!

THANK YOU TO PRICE FOR TAKING US OUT TO COMMUNITY EVENTS LIKE THE LATINO FILM FESTIVAL !!!!

I am super glad that I was able to watch Filly Brown, it was an amazing experience for me and I really can't wait for it to come out in the theaters in April to watch it with my friends and family!

As a singer, I was impacted by this film in many ways ... I would one day love to here my voice flow its way through speakers, maybe even be a big name in the entertainment world ... BUT !!! If it would change me into the person that I said I would never be ... THEN I DON'T WANT IT!!! I want to be the same, random, dorky girl that everyone knows ... I want to be that same old Cindy who accomplished her dreams with out letting it all go to her head! I want to keep it original ... I want to be me. And if its not good enough for a label ... well that would be their decision. But it wouldn't stop me! I would keep going until I find the company that would encourage me to be me and no one else !!!!

Filly Brown is another reminder of my dream of singing and what I will and will not stand for as an individual!

Thank You Price ;D

3 of The 10 Most Common Interview Questions ...

No matter how prepared I think I am for an interview I still get a little nervous when when I sit in that chair and wait. I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING INTERROGATED !!!!

After taking a look at the 10 most common interview questions here are the ones that throw me off a little.

1) Why do you want this job?
- I want this job because I know that it will help get where I want to be in my career both professionally and personally.

2) Why should we hire you?
- I know that I can contribute to your team through hard work and dedication as well as offer a new perspective in different situations.

3) Tell me about yourself.
- I am a full time college student at SDCC as well as a Price Scholar. I am frequently told that I am a hardworking, respectful, helpful person that will accomplish my many goals.

These three questions are the ones that really throw me off, but with practice and confidence I know that I can answer them without a doubt in my mind. ;D

Bad Customer Service ... "Alternative"

We all have good and bad experience when it comes to customer service! It can be little things; like not being serviced right away, not being addressed properly, or simply treated badly ... Either way bad customer service is not very pleasant!

For example, I walked into a McDonald's (I'm the only person there) and I'm waiting for assistance. The cashier that was working there was totally ignoring me, so I said "excuse me :)". She just kept right on ignoring me ... continuing with her nothingness. So I said it again, " EXCUSE ME :)" (never once being rude) and finally she turned around ...

Her: "What"? ...

Me: " O.o Umm, can I have a fork please" ?

Her: (WITH ATTITUDE) ... "Didn't I already Give You ONE" ???

Me: "Yes you did but I need another one please".

Her: Turns around and throws the fork on the counter and walks away ...

Me: " O.O Umm ... Thanks" ... turn and walk out.

This could have and should have been avoided! I am a paying customer and in a huge way I am keeping her employed ... So I should be treated in a better manor.

     How it should have gone:

Her: "Hi, how can I help you :)"?

Me: ":) Hi, can I please have a fork"?

Her: "Oh, I'm sorry! Did I not put one in your bag"?

Me: "Yes you did, But apparently i'm expected to share with my sister @.@"

Her: " Oh hahaha :D ... I get you one right now ;)"
(TURNS AND GRABS A FORK) ....

Me: "Thank You Very much :)"!

Her: " Have a nice day :D".

Me: "You too ;)"!

There's always more than one way to handle any situation ... it's just up to you to choose how you want the interaction to go. A little help goes a long way :).

Kid President: Pep Talk

I like this video a lot!!! It made me really think about what I am doing not only to better myself but how to help better those around me. I really like how this video uses a child to give this message, it has an innocence's to it but also a strange seriousness that really gets you to think ...

When I saw this video I immediately thought of my friend ... He needs a Pep Talk and beside the one that I gave him I thought that this would make him laugh.

I forwarded this video to one of my best friends who is dealing with a lot of things ... I told him that he needs to keep moving forward in life and that he is here for a purpose ... What it is only he will know but I knew that this would not only make him smile but also make him think about what he is doing in his life.
